PUPPIES
Darian puppies are born and reared in the house, sharing our lives from the moment their eyes & ears awaken to the world. They are introduced to all the usual household events & noises & are
provided with a wide variety of toys to cater for the enquiring mind of the Border Collie! Mothers are never prevented from playing with and teaching their puppies once weaned, as it provides a vital learning stage for youngsters about to go out into the world.
We encourage prospective puppy owners to visit as much as they can & all puppy owners (even those living outside the UK) are required to come and meet us and the dogs and be 'approved' before being accepted onto the waiting list. With regard to our waiting list, it does tend to grow between litters, so we advise early booking.
We consider careful socialising to be of tremendous importance and to this end we also 'import' friendly children for the pups to meet, as our own are now grown up.
We also consider health testing to be of paramount importance and breed only from healthy stock, who have passed eye and hearing tests & have suitable hip scores. Where sires & dams are not already 'clear by parentage' they are also DNA tested for their CEA/CH (Collie Eye Anomaly/Choroidal Hypoplasia),
their NCL (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis) & their TNS (Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome) status (more information is available on the Health Matters page).
Puppies are sold with their Kennel Club registrations endorsed - this means that
a) they are ineligible for an Export Pedigree (this endorsement will obviously not be applied for pups travelling abroad to approved new homes)
b) none of their progeny can be registered with the Kennel Club unless I lift the endorsement. I'm always willing to do so provided all relevant health checks have been carried out prior to any mating.
Once puppies leave here, we like to keep in close touch with them & their new families. We pride ourselves on our 'after sales service', as our puppies retain their place
in our hearts for the rest of their lives. Whenever we can offer advice or be of practical help, we are delighted to do so.

Folly produced 7 gorgeous pups sired by the multi-talented Bekwey Muchacho (YKC Agility, Obedience, HTM & Conformation) in the early hours of 25th April 2012. We have 3 dogs & 4 bitches and there may possibly be one pup still available, although at this time I can't say whether it will be a dog or a bitch. The litter's page has now been added so that you can follow their progress in the nest.
Our next litter will be Cello's first, in 2013.
